 Hi Robyn,

I've had limited success with choko myself - the heat here last
year just killed it right back, which destroyed some of the myths
I'd heard about the stuff. With the lantana-over-a-few-years thing,
was that in a temperate or sub-tropical climate - ie, did the vine
have to start from scratch in spring, or was it incremental?

The numbers I've seen quoted on the size of these things in a single
season implies some pretty impressive credentials as far as area
shaded. Do you think the problem would be the rate of growth,
or the ability to compete, or the %age of shade it casts? Would a
high density grid of irrigated plants help, do you think? I've not
had to deal with kikuyu anywhere, only couch and a few other
weeds (heliotrope, rhodes, and similarly less 'runny' plants) so I'm
 definitely in speculative territory here.

 Jedd.
