my friend has just helpped with the making and unveiling of
http://www.envirowiki.info

sorry if someone has already posted this but anyway they are looking for
entries and since there was a big recent discussion on the permaculture
forum i thought this could be the answer to the desired open source
database.  all the normal rule apply to entries, they must be original
or sourced or whatever... this is what he said:

: there is a problem with copyright, but only if the info is ripped
straight from the permaculture (or other) pages
: ideally, it should be re-written, and referenced
: then there should be no problem
: note, all stuff on envriowiki is licenced under a freelicence - the
GFDL. for that reason it has to be original.
: or from another free licence source.

so have a look and write some entries hopefully people will write
entries under specific headings not just 'permaculture' and then this
will be a true working database of examples and knowledge of all that
people have done.
