there was an item on the radio about seasonal changes, spring now starts 1 week earlier!
Have you looked at a post hole shovel, the kind with a fixed side and one hinged? It should do what you want.
The Canas do not seem to have as much starch(?), so you would need to process more of themto get the same amount of powder as you would from the C. indica.
Re the capsicum and eggplant, aren't they all solaceums? I know that you can treat the capsicum the same and they do not complain but I have never buried them so much that only a couple of leaves are showing, usually I bury then half way between the previous soil level and the first 2 leaves.
