Explore creative ways to integrate native plants into permaculture design a=
nd functional landscapes: from the backyard to bush regeneration and restora=
tion ecology, and the potential for commercial bushfood production in permac=
ulture & sustainable agriculture systems.<BR>

The course is a must for anyone concerned with the integration of native pl=
ants and bushfoods in sustainable agriculture and horticulture and for perma=
culture designers, teachers, practitioners and producers, people working wit=
h indigenous communities, bush regeneration and restoration ecology.<BR>

A basic working knowledge of permaculture design principles and practice is=
assumed. Prior attendance of a PDC or introductory permaculture course is p=
referred but not essential.<BR>

<B>Articulation:</B> This course will provide underpinning knowlegde and sk=
ills for competency units at Cert III and IV of Accredited Permaculture Trai=
ning (APT=81)<BR>

<B>Course activities include:</B> presentations, workshops, design projects=
, practical, excursions, seed & food collection in the wild, and a gourm=
et Bushfood Banquet on the Friday evening.<BR>

</B>Peter Hardwick is passionate about native plants, and has studied bushf=
oods and their cultivation since 1977. A pioneer and visionary behind the bu=
shfood industry, he teaches from a wealth of practical experience. Peter est=
ablished the original Wilderness Foods plant nursery in the 1980’s wit=
h groundbreaking work on genetic selection. He works with local Bundjalung, =
consults for commercial bushfood production, and continues with his cutting =
edge research in Northern NSW.<BR>
