Info for anyone working in ODA sector in the region and who is good at
writing very rapid proposals...

Subject: [SAFSF] Gates Foundation RFP

The Global Development Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is
seeking Concept Notes for funding a limited number of proposals to
evaluate strategies that more effectively link small holder farmers to
markets that are efficient and equitable. This initiative is one part of
a larger agricultural strategy that will seek to apply research to crops
and cropping systems important to the poor, encourage the development
and adoption of improved inputs and encourage improved crop management
practices.

We would very much like this RFP to be shared with the SFL network and any
another organizations you are aware of that are working directly with small
holder farmers in Africa and South Asia. We have attached the background
document and the guidelines for submitting Concept Notes in our required
format. The deadline for submission of Concepts Notes is: 5:00 p.m. Pacific
Daylight Time on Monday, July 31, 2006. The Concept Notes should be
submitted online:
www.gatesfoundation.org/ForGrantSeekers/OpenRFPs/GlobalDevelopment. We
encouraged you to contact us at any point via e-mail

(GDRFPAG.ValueChain at gatesfoundation.org) to discuss any programmatic or
logistical issues. Thank you for your interest.
