Letter from Columbians originally sent to Sydney Food Fairness forum but
potentially of interest to others:

I am writing on behalf of the Faith Ecology Network (FEN), a multifaith
network which shares a common interest in ecology and a common concern about
ecological issues.

Each year we put on a public forum on one of those common areas. This year
the forum is about food and issues associated with genetically engineered
food. Chaired by the ABC Religion Report commentator, Noel Debien, the
keynote speaker will be Dr Judy Carmen, a respected authority on health
issues associated with the genetic engineering of food. The program will
include presentations, responses, discussion and prayer rituals by
representatives of Aboriginal, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Bahai, Uniting
Church and Catholic faith traditions. It will also include a short story
telling session by Donna Jacobs-Sife, well-known Australian story teller. It
will conclude with the sharing of finger food suitable for a light meal
which will be brought by those attending.

The forum will be held on Sunday, June 18th, from 1pm till 6.30pm at Santa
Sabina College, 90 The Boulevarde, Strathfield.

On behalf of the Faith Ecology Network, I invite the Food Alliance to
participate in the Forum in several ways: 1) To put on a display 2) To
promote the forum through your networks, 3) To invite your members to
attend. I also invite people to join the FEN egroup by emailing
faith_ecology_network-subscribe at yahoogroups.com.au Please find the
advertising flyer enclosed. Thank you for your support
