g'day dick,
typical of councils overkill for preventing the possible (not probable)
unknown (well it should be known but with litigation they have to be
careful).
if you use a grease trap or any sort of tank in the system and water gets
held instead of being used eimmidiately the water is going to get smelly and
bacteria have a better chance of building up, my experience is grey water is
better deleivered directly to food trees of food plants, i always deliver it
under my mulch layer for no other reason than i don't want to lose any
through evaporation.
the next thing is whatever you do in your own yard keep to yourself that way
no one can get anxcious hey?? we have been suing our grey water mostly
laundry and bath this way for over 15 years now and none of our neighbours
has suffered not have we even when used for veges (which need more water
than fruit trees).
if you incorporate a tank to take the water then let it gravity feed
continualy set the tank up to drain completely, no good in smellying up good
fresh grey water.
more and more around these north brissy sub's i am seeing extension hoses on
washing machines wasting good water that could go to gardens on lawns,
they're not using any tanks.
also on our remedies page is a home made detergent recipe, the wife swears
by it as do many others who now use it.
all come down to good old common sense, with councils and neighbours "what
the eye don't see/ears don't hear, the heart won't yearn for"
With peace and brightest of blessings,
len
