A National Permaculture Open Garden Scheme was proposed at APC8 last
year. Permaculture Melbourne had hoped to trial a State-level scheme
this year but ran out of time to organise it, so we're now aiming for a
trial run, probably November, next year. Our current thinking is to NOT
associate it with the Australian Open Garden Scheme and maybe call it
Permaculture Open Days, to overcome this common misunderstanding that Pc
is just about gardening. Running our own scheme would also enable us to
have control over the utilisation of any surplus funds generated. We
envisage a long lead time to arrange publicity, insurance, etc, and to
give participants plenty of time to get prepared. Keep in touch.
