Kylie,
The Port Phillip EcoCentre is a good resource for integrating
sustainability programs at and in schools.
They are probably remote from your locality, but it might be worth a
try... http://www.ecocentre.com/

Subject: [permaculture-oceania] garden at school

g'day all...
myself and a colleague are in the process designing an alternative year
nine programme to begin next year for our school. we're moving our
students off campus to an operating church premise and have been given
(relatively) free range in terms of the grounds. one of the things i
would be really keen to see happen is the students developing a
permaculture garden within the grounds that they might design and
implement. i'd like to see this providing food for community meals and
to give to people within the wider community where the campus is based.
i have very little experience or knowledge and was wondering if some of
you could share some ideas or point me towards good sources of
info/resources etc. i think my folks did a mollison course years ago and
i probably have a book i could dig out, but any help with ideas etc.
would be very gratefully received.
i'm in the geelong area.
thanks heaps in anticipation,
kylie
