yeh that item has been around for a while now, before any thoughts of an
early election it was full on, then once an early election was cemented they
said it won't go ahead (vote catching) now after the election it is back on
again.

it is just anotehr ill conceived dam idea just like wivenhoe was and a few
otehrs they are built in very shallow catchment areas that msotly only hold
flood water from flooding areas fown stream, never designed as water
storages. and yes because they spread out so far and so shallow they take up
a lot of good land.

and argueably due to the extended dry times the mary river itself is not in
good health so a dam will liley also make that worse, so bodes against the
mary river cod and there is a turtle involved as well that groups are
wroking to save from the extinct list.

the dam will not solve a single problem to do with making fresh water
availability more secure.

after all one of the new ministers said all they have to do to make water
restrictions a thing of the past is to charge more for water, privatise
water, and pump treated effluent into the system, problem solved she said.

With peace and brightest of blessings,

len
