Sorry for not replying sooner....

Yes the orris root is in the classic Ras el Hanout mixes including some of
the easier/quicker ones which might only contain 14 or so ingredients.

I take days looking for mine in Marrakech and now know to avoid ones with
cinnamon because AQUIS want to irradiate them [It costs about $45] before
they send them back to you. They are after borers of course and I welcome
the generally good job they do keeping things out.

Boy do they go over you when you come back from Bali!

A caution with Ras el Hanout. Some go balistic over it and want to use it in
everything. Boring! It is best used in tagines with a sweet note like prunes
and honey etc. 

Diabetics are warned to minimise their ingestion of this potent mix, by
spice-aware Moroccans. Moroccans generally are very sophisticated in their
knowledge of herbs and spices and their medicinal applications.

I dont have a permaculture garden yet but when I do I will ask you for a
plant if that is what is on offer. Otherwise for dried orris root, the
