COURSE: Soil food web.
Working with beneficial micro-organisms, learn how to create a healthy and
productive garden.
This course:
- uses the history of our local soils to help you understand the soil food
web
- demonstrates simple tools to create the right soil biology for the types
of plants you want to grow.
DATE: Sunday 6th May 2007.
VENUE: CERES Stables. CERES Community Environment Park, Cnr Roberts and
Stewarts Streets, East Brunswick VIC 3057.

TUTOR: Chris Ennis.
Chris Ennis manages CERES¹ Organic Farm and training programs.
With a background in Permaculture and a focus on food growing in cities,
Chris has initiated projects such as The Urban Orchard and the Merri Creek
Market Garden.
Chris recently completed the Soil Biology and Chemistry Course with Dr
Elaine Ingham and is bursting to share this practical and inspiring
knowledge.

EVENT: Open day & composting demonstration - Fern Avenue Community Garden.
An Australian Open Garden Scheme and international Composting Week event.
DATE: May 20.
- open day - 10am - 4pm.
- composting demonstration by David Corkhill - 2.30pm.
The composting demonstration is Fern Avenue Community Gardens' contribution
to international Composting Week.
- talk by seed saver, Andrew Skinner, at 11.30am.
VENUE: Fern Avenue Community Garden, Fullerton, Adelaide.

DETAILS: The Fern Avenue Community Garden open day will also include organic
seedling and herb sales and environmentally friendly cleaning agents.
Refreshments: Tea and coffee and an assortment of muffins will be available.
You can wander about and look at the 34 plots, children's garden with story
telling and the Cancer Care plot.
There will be displays of the community garden's history. The garden site
was a jam factory in the 1850s and was the site of an archaeological dig.
