Dear Tamara, Bill et al,
Thanks for these nut and bolts of grassroots energy policy.
An interesting 'compare the pair style' 30 second ad could be developed from
this data, to run on Get up website,
who have recently announced the competition-winning ad which will run during
the election campaign.
(People voted for it online but I have not been able to view the content as
yet).
You've probably seen the Industry Superfunds superannuation finds ad which
always begins with "compare the pair...",
comparing two employees superfund retirement contributions and payouts? It
has been run to death, so nearly everyone has been exposed to it.
Imagine an ad which shamelessly runs with the same simple concept, (why
reinvent the wheel?)
but applied to real energy consumption patterns (and respective costs)
between consumers in Australia and Denmark...
The reality of Danish retirement with self generated energy is a hard
hitting in-your-face style message,
compared with.Australia's spiralling energy costs + greenhouse gas
emissions, painting a stark picture even a two year old could understand
(but not the Liberal Party).
Someone out there with a videocam? Please stand up and be counted!
I'm doing my personal best to get on board with the revolutionary technology
which allows everyone to make/publish their own movies/music/books etc ad
nauseum. Now Desktop Publishing with Adobe InDesign, later with digital
photography and web design.....but it all takes time.
Latest news on election date: (from The Age, Fri 10th Aug/07, page 10)
"...It'll be over by Christmas" by Tony Wright (national affairs editor):
The Labor and Liberal parties have set up campaign headquarters (Labor in
Sydney, Libeals in Melbourne CBD) in case Howard gets a rush of blood to the
head and calls a snap election. The APEC meeting in Syney in September
will effectively stop any form of campaigning.
But most observers believe Howard will hold off as long as possible. ..
News yesterday that the Liberal Party had block-booked millions of dollars
of TV (yawn) and radio advertising time November appears to confirm a
later-rather-than-sooner scenario. Betting favourites are November 24th or
December 1st, as the latest favourite dates if Howard is not to risk
upsetting small business (Christmas shopping)..
Ciao for now,
Deb
Hi all,
Please find Bill's second installment.
This has been written in the last few weeks, for the purpose of PPP
formation.
Kind regards,
Tamara
