Dear friends,

At a dinner on Friday night, a friend showed me a small development (8 2
storey units, 2 single storey houses) which had already been approved by
council (so no change to placement or building design possible now)... my
friend was asked by the developer what 'permaculture plants' could be added
to the site.. a token request, perhaps but it set me to thinking...

What plants might be suitable to plant in a temperate climate rental
property - mostly shaded by large buildings... and likely never to be
tended, pruned or watered by tenants (sorry, not everyone is a Dan
Palmer...)

A couple of us made a few suggestions, but I'd love to hear others
thoughts.... including for what to do with
      - the little strips (usually grass) alongside access driveways,
      - visitor parking bays
      - fences (usually paling or metal fences)

cheers and thanks in anticipation...

Steve
