Please write a letter to extend the GM canola bansTake not to heed the passing of some states use by dates for review submissions, as that would be way too complaint for we who have embraced the concept of educating the masses.
I've always subscribed to the theory, it aint over till its over.......
Genethics agrees!
So just keep sending letters.
They need not take the formal guise of a submission, but ask as many questions of these government departments as you require.
Send copies to relevant MInisters and their shadowy opposition.
Agriculture, Environment, Health, Finance etc etc.
Also Federal Minister McGauran, our beloved Agriculture Minister, as well as Opposition Ag spokesman/woman.
Bans do not expire till April 2008.
if anyone would like to email me about this off-list, that is fine.
Thanks
Deb

Subject: Please write a letter to extend the GM canola bans
Please forward this to your lists
Hullo All Gene Ethics supporters:
Thanks to the hundreds of people who have already written letters
asking for the state bans on GM canola to be extended till 2013.
If you haven't written yet, please do so now! To all on the contact
list attached, please. Keep your letter pithy, punchy and personal.
Letters from all over Australia and overseas are welcome.
The focus should be on economic, trade and market issues if possible.
But risky products also have costs and impacts so bring the health and
environment questions in too if you want to. If your business or your life
will be harmed by GM canola, tell them loud and clear.
Don't bother with standard letters as they only count as one. Instead,
ask your family, friends, work mates etc. to also sign your letter.
That will add to its influence with the decision-makers.
We can get the bans extended, but only with your support!!
It's now or never for GM-free Australia and together we can win!
Peace and joy,
Bob
PS: We have 200,000 postcards to Premiers to be signed. Order yours now.
Posters, free-standing racks and a box for returns are also available for shops.
Please ask your local store if you can put one there. please keep an eye on it.
