A strategy to stop foxes without all the digging is to lie a strip of wire
around the outside of the compound, wiring it to the bottom of the 2.4
strip. That way they cannot dig from outside the flat strip which probably
only needs to be chicken wire about 900 mm.
You can grow things through the wire

Hi All,
we're going to have a Permaculture Foodgarden at Ashwood secondary
(Melbourne) and have been told that a 2400mm high cyclone mesh fence keeps
out foxes if the bottom is burried. Is that so?
Not to mention the gate.
