Here's something that would be illegal under GM contract laws:
farmers saving seed and distributing to other farmers who are financially
struggling.
Monsanto and DuPont take a very dim view of farmers saving seed without
paying royalties back to the comany for every crop sown,
(see the Percy Schmeisser and other cases in Canada and North America).

Breaking Rural News : GRAINS AND CROPPING

WA grain growers give seeds this Christmas
      Australia
      Friday, 14 December 2007

Farmers in Western Australia are giving a different kind of present
this Christmas - they are donating seed to give drought-affected farmers a
second chance and the ability to sow a crop when the season breaks.
The CBH Group has had an overwhelming response to their seed donation
program, with more than 260 tonnes in donations already.

But with more than 50 growers from exceptional circumstance areas of
the state having registered for assistance, CBH is again calling for growers
to consider donating grain into the program when they deliver to CBH this
harvest.

CBH Group deputy chairman, Neil Wandel, has thanked those growers who
have supported the program already this harvest, but he says more is needed.

"I would urge growers who are coming to the end of their harvest
programs to consider donating a tonne or two of grain to help out those
growers in need," Mr Wandel said.

"The drought conditions are making it tough for many growers
throughout the State this harvest, while those of us that have a crop are
looking at record prices for our grain.

"In times like this, it's great to know that there is a program
available which enables those of us with a more fortunate crop to help out
our mates in EC areas of the state who are suffering from the drought."

Mr Wandel said donations could be of any quantity and any grain type,
regardless of grade or variety.

"We are happy to accept whatever quantity people feel they can spare,
whether it's one tonne or a whole load," he said.

Donations can be made at any CBH receival point.
