Thanks for that Steve. I would like to see more of these alternative
lifestyles documented and really out there in the mainstream media. Perhaps
the organisation (if it goes ahead) could be devoted to videoing current
projects and people who live these alt lifestyles then marketing them and
getting them out there into the mainstream.
One could also take the view that since peak oil is inevitable, resources
such as planes should be used while we've still got them (and relatively
affordable) for spreading the permaculture message which might otherwise not
reach as many people if we did not use them. The other issue is that such
trips would take months and perhaps even years and the majority of people
just won't commit to such long trips. Then again, perhaps the people that
would commit would be the right volunteer for the job!
