GREAT - to see someone back in Australia like you, promoting, at home level - < fish plus crops > what I, as a former Permaculture Trainer -
 found some $$ support in the USA to introduce into our 30 villages in rural Bangladesh.

Also - Thanks to Care International in Dhaka.- for showing me abour 'Rice + Fish' to use in our 30 villages.

I am an Australian -  'Anglo' who spent 11 years living, funding and working in rural Bangladesh.

Care Bangladesh's 'Fish + Rice = programme suited our 3 or 4 hundred small fields that sloped back down to the river as our annual floods receded.

Leaving us with fresh, free, fertile silt  and small, free fish from India.

I showed our farmers how to dig and leave a 1 m sq. 'sump' at the lowest point in each of their tiny rice fields.

Obvious is it not? - The fish that had come with the Indian silt were trapped - crapped and ended up
in the 'sump' as each field drained, either to be eaten, sold or put in the next lowest paddi field to eat, crap, grow and either then be eaten or move to the next small paddi field.

They had eaten most of the pests in the previous small paddi field. And had left their dung to fertilise it, had they not?

Had we, almost, discovered 'perpetual motion' ?
