The Sydney Food Fairness Alliance is planning the development of a food
policy for the Sydney region. Although the day to start this process is
aimed at Alliance members, it is being advertised in case others interested
in attending and observing can do so.
EVENT: Shaping the future with a Sydney food policy.
Purpose -
1. Consolidate local examples/evidence for why a Sydney Food Policy is
needed.
2. Develop strategies for engaging the public and decision makers about the
need for a Sydney Food Policy.
The workshop is also an opportunity to exchange skills and broaden knowledge
within the Alliance - building on what we each contribute and have expertise
in.
DATE: Thursday 22 February 2007, 9am - 3.30pm.
VENUE: Edmund Rice Centre, 1st Floor, 9 Alexandra Avenue, Croydon NSW.
COST: To be confirmed, although we'll try to keep minimal (enough to
cover costs).

REGISTRATION: Registration and an outline for the workshop will be available

The workshop replaces our February meeting. Next Alliance meeting is in
April.
THE ALLIANCE
The Sydney Food Fairness Alliance educates and advocates on issues to do
with food quality, access to nutritious food, urban agriculture and related
landuse in the Sydney region.
Alliance members include nutritionists, health workers, local government
workers, church/ social justice/ community food system interests and
permaculturists.
The Alliance has brochures available for download on the website. They may
be freely used by sustainability and other educators, local government,
civil society organisations, relocalisation groups and similar entities as
well as individuals, under the terms of the Creative Commons
'reuse/attribution/no change' licence as stipulated on the brochures.
