[Pil-pc-oceania] ppp - a practical science

Permaculture is, in its essence, a design science of practical solutions to
the world's problems.

Practical solutions.

To things like droughts and floods and the army in Aboriginal communities.
To food miles, to hunger.

Permaculture is a practical science, not a political one.

Most of us "live using permaculture principles" alot of us use Bill's
designer manual to guide us in our design and growing endeavours.
How about we the techniques in it as the basis of party principles?

Bill has mentioned one policy to me - that we reaforest all seaward slopes.
That doesn't sound too contentious. And he has put forwards trompes to solve
peak oil - a good idea to me...

policy...my own thoughts...please be gentle...

maybe permaculture should be used to rescue the Murray Darling? Swales,
repatterning the farms of irrigators, reaforestation, the environment as a
legitimate user of water...

And maybe we should have all houses as solar passive? with Govt assistance
to do so

How about all people on any land must build soil?

How about an aim to have all farmers and all disadvantaged people in
Australia do a PDC by 2017?

How about all permaculturists be given 50K to get their farms and houses
working sooner (there are all sorts of assistance schemes happening at the
moment- ongoing ones - this could be a one off) (and could be in place of
water tank assistance etc)

maybe very disadvantage people like in Aboriginal communities should be
given every assistance required to implement their permaculture designs?

Certainly in the recent announcement of a 15 person panel to take care of
the review and implementation of water infrastructure in Victoria a
permaculturist should be included?

As for the complexity of a political party, if we form, we need a couple of
office bearers (about two or three) and that is it. I've been part of a
small party before - the Your Voice Party- and that functioned pretty simply
to get Richard Frankland elected. It doesn't need to be hard.

I am certainly not trying to fragment permaculturists, and to be perfectly
honest, I don't think Bill is either.

Kind regards,
Tamara
