[Pil-pc-oceania] FROM THE SUBLIME TO THE RIDICULOUS

While the two party system we have now - plus a few minor parties just to
keep it interesting - is not ideal, but at least we know who is who in the
zoo.

Fortunately, there is supposedly a separation between church and state -
otherwise we might have ten political parties representing the major
religions.

If the permaculturists climb a tree and start their own political party, why
not a bio-dynamic party, an organic party, a gardening for pleasure party,
an asparagus growers party, a wheat growers party - then move into the
community, and every large hobby or sporting group could have a party.

Then there are animal welfare parties, the list is endless. Mind you, there
is a Vote for Fern party in the Benelong electorate. Fern is a mildly
retarded ginger kitten rescued by Cat Rescue [ an off-shoot of WLPA]. She
is standing against John Howard on the platform of mandatory desexing. She
has her own posters and website! But this is a political 'stunt'. No one
expects to have a litter tray in Canberra.
