Right you are Martin.
The world's first Green Party took off in Tasmania too!

The United Tasmania Group was formed by conservationists, those common not garden-of-eden variety greens, as a response to losing the fight to stop the flooding of Lake Pedder in the 1960's and early 1070's, and the almost unstoppable Tasmanian HEC: Hydro-Electric Commission (a mean nasty many headed hydra beast) then threatening to drown the Franklin-Gordon rivers. (Gunns would be today's forest gobbling equivalent). But HEC lost! Because we got political.

Later members of the UTG formed the Tasmanian Greens. Who then formed the Australian Greens. But UTG was the world's first Green party.

Go Tasmania!

How does it go international, same as every thing else, permaculture started in Tassie and grew
This planet has to undergo fundemental change radicaly quickly, and there are many who realize this in all countries in the world as with everything it needs a begining starting with permaculture the means will justify the end.
