again  with the so called accidental killing of non target species using 
1080 is totally believable and well documented but these rat baits are 
harmless to anything but the target species, and yes our dogs have found the 
baits at times and suffered no ill effects as i'm sure many farm dogs have 
done the same but all rural folk use the baits it is the only way. and 
researching the active ingredient tells why for it to kill a dog (and one of 
ours was a mini-foxy she was a terror for finding the baits) they would have 
to eat the whole box over a 2 week period or so.
