Beyond Oil SA news 11 March 2007
It is rare to see in one fortnight so much data, news and commentary
indicating that the world is past the peak of conventional oil
extraction. It now seems very likely that the world's biggest producer,
(and future hope of oil cornucopians), Saudi Arabia is suffering rapid
post peak decline. NEWS items 1, 2 and 3 are especially significant in
this regard. Note that Jim Puplava of financialsense.com (a prominent
proponent of peak oil) finally put a timeline to the crash of the US
economy and predicted that the US would be in a state of hyperfinflation
in 18-24 months time. That is a big call and it will be interesting to
watch and wait!
Regards, Michael.
I have the PDF for this newsleeter if anyone wants I can forward it on.
Saudi's decline has set in within the last 12 months and is very rapid
causing great concern.
With our Nimbin Climate Action Group I've included Peak Oil on the agenda as
the two are interwined and together present the biggest crisis we face, and
the solutions for one work for the other. If climate change is what grabs
people, use it and then use the opportunity to raise awareness on the oil
situation -- don't think it will be long before public consciousness catches
up with CC on this one....
