BRISBANE: Talk- A plan for Brisbane's sustainable future

The Lord Mayor will be speaking about his CitySmart policy and his vision
for dealing with climate change by getting the community involved house by
house, street by street and suburb by suburb to make Brisbane Australia¹s
most sustainable city.

CitySmart is about the Brisbane City Council working with residents to
develop smart environmental ideas that will reduce Brisbane¹s impact on the
environment. It deals with practical ways to green our city, our homes, our
workplaces and our suburbs.
Lord Mayor, Campbell Newman believes that the way to becoming carbon neutral
is through changing behaviours not lifestyles.  It is about real people
taking easy and relevant actions to achieve real outcomes.

Venue: Customs House, 399 Queen Street Brisbane
Time: 5.30 p.m. for 6 p.m. start (registrations from 5.15pm)
Cost: $ 22* / Concession: $ 11*.  No charge to members and sponsors of the
Brisbane Institute
