Hi Isaebella,
I've been wondering about this topic as I mentor two young women, aged 12
and 14.
What was your PDC like? I did the PDC with Bill and Geoff last January, and
I'm not sure my young friends could quite handle it. perhaps they could, and
I'm just underestimating them. It is a long time to sit still, even for an
adult...
I have been thinking about taking the eldest down to the Southern Cross PI
as I hear it is hands on as well as theory.
They have both been gardening with me most afternoons for nearly 2 years, we
have swales and they can explain to people how they work. They are also now
into fungi and bugs and chooks and ducks etc. They make compost with me and
strike cuttings, grow from seed etc, but I'd like them to learn the ins and
outs of PC. Maybe I should start teaching them a bit more theory myself...?
Love Tamara
