[Pil-pc-oceania] GM Biodiesel plant for Goulburn (Farm Online)

I suggest the film "the future of food"
GM crops have several problems.
1. Monsanto owns the round up ready canola gene. Where this gene has
"escaped" in the states, the farmer where the gene is found is said to have
stolen the gene and is sued. Not good.
2. Things like ebola and other viruses are used to break into the gene to
splice in to - we have no idea of the long term effect of this.
3. An antibiotic marker is placed in the new gene - to show when it is
turned on. GM crop plus antibiotic allergy = not good.
4. Biodiesel is not necessary in a world powered by trompes.
5. As a permie, I don't support massive monocultures - growing corn for
biodiesel.
6. We don't need GM to feed the world. We grow enough food already, it is
just not equally shared around. the answer in permaculture, not GM.
Talking about GM is not stupid. It's important.
