tomatoes are said to repel snails... but I know of alot of snails who've
eaten them... which means I then can't eat them (the snails, that is)...
Best suggestion is to be kind to the snails, talk to them, and plant them a
patch of yummy plants (not tomatoes) outside of your place (perhaps on the
nature strip?) where they can eat and play [and others can collect them for
their purposes :-)]. Don't leave buckets of sweetened water lying around
your place, as they like to go for a swim and unfortunately they don't get
out and they drown... poor things...
