Thank-you Russ for some clarity and process,

National PC Day and a future PC structure are linked, whats the chicken
and whats the egg here?

Thanks Graeme and Janet for outlining succinctly the variables and
pathways we have to form a structure. Thanks Sue for 'jumping' onto the
PIL Board and understanding the need for the Sydney model. Thanks
Lawrence for thinking outside the box and pointing us to Chaordic
Organisation as a possible model through this.

So....I'm happy to start with the question Russ asks us first to have
agreement on -' The purpose of a National PC DAY'.

As mentioned in a earlier post, the idea was officially introduced at a
workshop titled ' business is not a dirty word' at APC8 in
Melbourne.Discussions there moved around to looking for ideas of how we
could best promote permaculture to the public and through this, our
diverse business interests.

Many of us already promote permaculture, both in groups and as
individuals, in our own regions in many different ways.Eg - Open Days,
Do it Yourself Workshops, talks etc. The reasoning therefore was -
could we have a greater impact if we combined our energies and focused
on one day a year?

Its about getting permaculture 'out there and in your face' so more folk
are likely to pick it up and those of us employed in permaculture, and
PC groups, are able to sustain their activities better. Far more chance
of national media outlets picking it up than just spasmodic local events.

PC Principles here include -' Integrate rather than Segregate and 'For
the greatest outcome, the least amount of energy used."

Hope this helps.

kind regards
John
