The impacts of 'peak oil' and climate change point to increased costs of
food, fuel and agricultural inputs. We are all re-thinking our models of
'development' and food supply systems. How can human development be
available to all within a smaller environmental footprint? This forum
focuses on the impacts of reduced oil and energy availability on developing
countries and development activities. Presentations by Roberto Perez
(permaculturist and environmental educator, Foundation for Nature and
Humanity, Havana, Cuba); Brett Parris (senior economic adviser, World
Vision Australia, and research fellow, Monash University Department of
Econometrics and Business Statistics); and Charlotte Sterrett (climate
change advocacy coordinator, Oxfam Australia).
