The following comment is written by Steve Payne and was delivered by Josh Byrne at APC9.
For me it summarized and put into words some of my own more recent thoughts.
Anyhow I thought it worth repeating. (Thanks to Josh Byrne for the copy of the Quote.) 

"I think as permaculture becomes accepted by the mainstream, permaculture designers, teachers and commentators need to head for the margins and edges (as they have always done) to keep breaking new ground. Most crucial will be promoting more 'radical' ideas that will address climate change and encourage more significant changes than the public are at present ready to accept."
