[Pil-pc-oceania] RE strife in Kenya

As Kenya has been a relatively stable part of East Africa for many years
(jokes about "Nairobbery" aside), many international NGOs have operations
there. Having working for a major NGO for the last 8 years I humbly
suggest that aid be channelled through the established NGO's as they are
best placed to assess the situation, find local partners and make
distributions which are efficient, effective and equitably based on need.
Amateur efforts, no matter how well intentioned, are much more likely to be
the wrong stuff delivered to the wrong people at the wrong time (or simply
stolen in the mayhem)
Definitely worth talking to friends and neighbours about the election
unrest in Kenya - or the rebellion in Chad - or the earthquakes in...

help with this..?

Can they handle Large parcels? Containers?
I tried the web site but was locked out of it..
i would appreciate any further contact details. i have contacts in Kenya

may be able to assist.
Is anyone co-ordinating some assistance??
