G'Day Graduates
I am bloody excited about the APC!!!!
I write this letter to the people out there who feel like me. That know
there is another way of looking at things, a new and exciting idea about the
way we operate and interact with and within the world we live in. We have
given a name to that idea and it is called Permaculture. I believe this idea
is not only great but vital in bringing about sustainability not only in our
own lives but the lives of every one on earth. In the words of David Suzuki
"What permaculturalists are doing is the most important
activity that any group is doing on the planet"
Well I say to you David, "thanks mate, just doing my bit, and if you don't
mind I would like to extend my gratitude also from the 500,000 (some say
closer to one million, but who really knows?) odd people worldwide that have
graduated from Permaculture Design Courses as well".
I distinctly recall Mark Latham's comments on the deterioration of mateship
in Australian society these days. Well Mark if you are reading this I have a
few words for you, in fact you too should come along because at The Ninth
Australian Permaculture Convergence (APC9) we are one big group of mates.
Bloody good mates, all with a common goal, making a better future for our
selves and our kids and their kids and their.. Well you get the picture!
This is the Olympic games of the Permaculture world.
It really is a special feeling to know you have your hands on the steering
wheel of social change. It winds me up and it gives me tingles now more than
ever because the (APC) is on again. I have been kept awake at night thinking
about the movers and the shakers that are going to be there, I am excited.
The last APC (APC8) in Melbourne gave birth to the Permaculture
International website that helps bring Permaculturalists together from
around the world. You bet your bottom dollar things will be happening again,
have a good look at the program on www.apc9.org.au <http://www.apc9.org.au/>
and that's only the beginning. Like a rolling stone this movement is gaining
momentum. Who is coming along for the ride? Can't wait the see you all
there.
Where would you be !!!!!!
Cheers
