Cheers Bruce & Janet, well said. I am jumping out of my skin to the
point where I am beside myself over it. This is also due to a HUGE
day yesterday with last-minute earlybirds flying in from everywhere.
The fax machine started rolling at 7:10am and the last one came in
close to midnight. The fax spat the dummy because of internet, phone
and fax all coming in on one line and it needed a dedicated line in
another room. The mobile then started and I was running backwards
and forwards in rare quiet moments to get on the net and answer
emails. Nonetheless, I've gotta say that it's a sheer delight doing
business with all you wonderful, understanding permies.
If you think your fax may not have come through please contact me
immediately. I will write to all registrants asap to confirm
receipt. I am sure there must be a some who couldn't get through
yesterday, please keep trying, I am here all weekend.
This morning I had a phone call from Alaska!!! - where it is still
yesterday - so the earlybird rate can be extended over the weekend
for those working on Alaskan time.
We are well aware that the cost makes coming to the convergence
prohibitive for many, especially for those who have to travel long
distances as well. The realities are that this is Sydney (read:
Paris, London, New York) in the 21st century and it's also despite
having a hundred or so volunteers on board. However, this will be
a very special convergence of permies not to be missed and a fun 30th
birthday party, all celebrated in a stunning location adjoining the
pristine bushland of Kuringai National Park.
Anyone who is having difficulties because of the cost, please contact
us, our combined ingenuity could well help you find a way. If anyone
driving has space for an extra passenger or two to share costs please
let me know. I would also appreciate hearing from anyone in Sydney
who is able to offer billeting.
Thank you all for your interest and encouragement, I am looking
forward to meeting each and every one of you at check-in.
Luv & peas,
Robyn
