I am in the process of organising a major event to host Roberto Perez
in inner west Sydney on Friday March 28th. This is the first Friday
after the convergence.
We are hoping to bring Roberto's ideas to a broader and more diverse
audience, including the large Latino community and local communities
in inner west Sydney who may be unfamiliar with permaculture concepts.
The event will be at Petersham Town Hall and include a well-known
Cuban band, Armandito Y Su Mechanico and professional Cuban dancers El
Moro and Allegria, as well as Roberto speaking, so this will be a
wonderful night. The Cuban consul and her husband will be attending
and we have invited various high profile people such as Peter Garret
and Linda Burney as well as Green Party speakers. This should raise
the profile of permaculture and local action for a post carbon future
in a manner that unites rather than divides.
We have support (not financial unfortunately) from the Green Party,
the local mayor (Green party member) and other local groups but we do
need some willing volunteers to help on the night. If you can give
your time you will be able to enjoy the event free and meet a range of
wonderful people as well as enjoy some of the best Latino music and
dance on offer in Australia! Anyone with catering experience is also
welcome as I am hoping to offer delicious organic food to make this
event a night to remember. Anyone with media contacts, technical
support etc is very welcome.
Please contact me by email: michele.margolis at gmail.com or
until January 25th: 03 57981679
after January 25th: 02 95696975
looking forward to hearing from you,
Happy New Year,
Michele Margolis
