"Living organisms interact with the environment,
they behave quite differently under differing weather and soil conditions,
they cross-pollinate, and they have a large range of natural genetic variability....
Genetically engineered plants are alive,
and cannot be regulated with a system developed with inert chemicals."
(William Freese, testimony before the EPA's Scientific Advisory Panel.) p 118, Genetic Roulette.

1. Environmental factors, natural and man-made substances, and genetic disposition of a particular plant can influence levels of transgene expression and cause unique health effects.
2. These factors are not adequately accounted for in assessments.
( Genetic Roulette: The Documented Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods, Jeffrey M. Smith, Gene Ethics, 60 Leicester St Carlton Vic 3053 Ph 1300133868 www.genethics.org

Copies of the a/n book are available from me, and also Gene Ethics. Well worth a read, if you want to get up to speed on GM.
