Interesting, I think it would be worth to note how you measured those.  
What device do you use for that ? I would be interested in getting one  
to measure what the home office equipment uses on a daily basis so I  
can work out a nice level to start trying fully on solar power. There  
are now small mini itx computers that run at 8W for instance to  
hopefully replace the mini pc setup which has a 250W supply.

I am also not sure how much is wasted, but if running on solar all  
those step down transformers for small devices really should just be  
fed in at 12V ( if fully standalone of course), to minimize wastage to  
heat I reckon. Still yet to find such a thing that you can just plug  
into and the current is regulated for that device. Wall wart  
transformers are horrible things :)

Yes I was going to mention that, another whole world of uknowns fixing  
other problems. I wonder if much study has been put into that  
considering it would be used daily. It sounds like a very concentrated  
amount coming from the coils.
