An idea for your un-sellable vinyl records: sit them on an empty flower 
pot in the sun with a stone in the middle. They sink into the pot and 
make a frilly flower pot! Don't think vinyl harms plants, but you have 
to keep them in the shade from then on or they turn into relics of a 
Salvador Dali painting and deposit your plants wherever gravity takes them!!
