No, Environment Victoria is a non-government, Melbourne based
not-for-profit organisation that goes for and gets funding for projects
like this and to employ people within their organisation... So why am I
sounding alittle peeved?
If some permies, within some permie organisations didn't have such an
anti-grant attitude then permaculture organisations would have staff and be
professional organisations like Environment Victoria and ACF have become
rather than running only on slave... opps! i mean volunteer labour.
Also Environment Victoria is a centralistic organisation (like ACF and
CERES) that employs "regional" co-ordinators that are Melbourne based and
work from Melbourne. It does not encourage regional employment rather
draws funding away from regional areas. These regional co-ordinators then
come down from Melbourne, knowing nothing about your area and expect you to
do volunteer work for them. These organisations blatantly disregard issues
of rural and regional economic sustainability while promoting their
sustainability programs.

Just a little note here: I'd like to thank Permaculture Melbourne Inc. and
all of the management committee (especially Graeme and Petra) for it's
support in auspicing the CO-EDAPT grant application.
