Hey all,
I just wanted to mention that I was actually offered this placement in Sukunan 6 months ago and have been working towards it since.
The reason why it is being advertised with AVI is because we decided to go with them for funding and it is their standard procedure to advertise all their positions.
So, please apply if that is what you want, that is your choice and right, but...
(how do i put this politically correctly?) can you let me have it when it comes down to the two of us at the end of the selection? Please?
I'll be your best friend AND invite you to my party!
Thankyou.
Sophy

Penguyuban Sukunan Bersemi's main purpose is to
encourage its own community to address the twin
problems of environmental decline and poverty. Its aim
is to create greater awareness about the declining
quality of air, land, water and soil. The organisation
also assists with income-generation, food supply,
housing and education. Sukunan aims to create a Centre
of Environmental Education to enable the community to
communicate its ideas to the rest of Indonesia.

Since the organisation started with its waste
management project in 2003 it has developed and now
seeks to appoint a permaculturist expert.

The appointee will introduce Sukunan villagers to
permaculture techniques, which include vegetable
gardens, integrated use of rice fields using fish and
environmental waste management. This will also work
toward helping to establish an environmental education
centre.

To be considered for this assignment you will require:

Formal qualifications or three years proven experience
in permaculture training
Environmental awareness and sustainability as a
lifestyle
A commitment to social justice and non-violent
resolution
Knowledge of native flora and fauna of Australia
Personal attributes must include excellent
communication skills, the ability to cope with
cultural isolation and a good understanding and
appreciation of the Indonesian lifestyle.

For enquiries, contact Nancy Zele on 61 3 9279 1843.
All applications must be submitted online. Login now
