and have a look at the attached graph comparing expenditure on the Iraq war 
and alternative energy initiatives. If the war in Iraq is about securing 
energy availability for Western economies, then it is looking like a very 
poor investment relative to the other options. Also, if governments and 
elected officials really do the bidding of corporations, as some 
commentators suggest, then corporate foreign policy is looking decidedly 
amateur.
