From the paper:
"slightly more than one-third of the solar energy absorbed by the
earth's surface and the planet's atmosphere
(but 4000 times the amount of annual commercial energy uses), is
needed to drive the global water cycle."
Yet another reason why we can't have all of that abundant solar energy
that is out there for us to potentially tap in a solar economy.
Also, fits bloody close to my calculation that commercial energy uses
are 1/12000 of what the sun gives us. If one third equals 4000 times
commercial energy use then one whole equals 12000 times commercial
energy use.
